It was reported on Wednesday that Kevin Love would be out for up to 6 weeks with a knee injury, forcing him out of the All-Star game this weekend.
Today, Carmelo Anthony was announced as his replacement to come off the bench for the Eastern Conference. Anthony beat out other contenders such as Joel Embiid, Hassan Whiteside & Dwyane Wade for the spot which is sure to spark debate in the basketball world.
It will mean that Melo will now suit up for his 12th All-Star appearance, some positive news for the Knicks after weeks of turmoil. He has averaged 23.2 points, 6.1 rebounds & 2.9 assists on 44% from the field so far this season.
